Are Futurists Warning Us, or Paving the Way to Dystopia?

Futurists have been writing for decades about a future where most humans will need to be controlled through drugs and entertainment as robotics and AI replace most jobs.

Dealing with the vast numbers of future unemployed has been a hot topic at the World Economic Forum, advised by transhumanist guru Yuval Noah Harari.

“How will they [non-elites] find some sense of meaning in life when they are basically meaningless, worthless. My best guess at present is a combination of drugs and computer games.”

How to feed people will be solved through technology, says Harari.

A society controlled through chemically induced comas was the subject of “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley in 1932. Huxley went on to experiment with mind altering drugs and even gave LSD tips to Dr. Jolly West in the CIA’s MK-Ultra mind control program. (Source)

“The nature of the ultimate revolution with which we are now faced… will enable the controlling oligarchy who have always existed and presumably will always exist to get people to love their servitude.”

Harari foresees we will all become hackable, explained by the equation B x C x D = AHH.

Biological knowledge multiplied by computing power multiplied by data equals the ability to hack humans.

And, of course, how to stop being hacked will require a global governance.

Let the good times roll.
