Comedian Extraordinaire Norm Macdonald Rests in Peace

Nobody could spin spin a yarn on late night television better than Norm Macdonald.

Sadly, Macdonald passed away today at age 61 after battling cancer for nine years. His career spanned three decades, including television, movies and his favorite stand up comedy.

Some of Macdonald’s best skits were portraying Burt Reynolds on Celebrity Jeopardy on Saturday Night Live, where he was a cast member from 1993-98.

Meme of the Week: Biden Borrowing Liberally

Joe Biden has a history of plagiarizing, from law school to the campaign trail, and recently stole a phrase out of a Reagan speech, which has Bill Whalen at Forbes wondering if a “New” Biden is still possible at this week’s Democrat convention.

Biden is “the old dude not so much yelling at the kids to get off the lawn as he is letting them in the house to throw a democratic socialist rave.”

NASA Will Rename “Inappropriate” Cosmic Objects and The Babylon Bee Mocks

NASA announced last week they will reexamine nicknames for cosmic objects that are insensitive, prompting a hilarious infographic from the satire site Babylon Bee.

Real changes cited by NASA were changing “Eskimo Nebulo” to NGC 2392 and the “Siamese Twins Galaxy” to NGC 4567 and NGC 4568. Since Perseus is from Greek mythology and the Greeks owned slaves, there was no word on what to call the Perseid Meteor Showers this week.

“These nicknames and terms may have historical or culture connotations that are objectionable or unwelcoming,” said Stephen T. Shih, Associate Administrator for Diversity and Equal Opportunity at NASA Headquarters (an actual organization).
