Restored Footage Shows San Francisco Prior to 1906 Earthquake

A Bay area blog recently highlighted restored video footage of San Francisco from four days before a 7.9 magnitude earthquake and fire brought disaster.

The quake struck at 5:12 a.m. on April 18, 1906 with a 7.9 magnitude, which sparked a four-day fire, resulting in about 3,000 deaths, 50,000 destroyed buildings and more than 300,000 homeless.
