China-India Border Dispute Heats Up

Since 1962, China and India have disputed control of the Ladakh region in the Himalayas. The first fatalities in 45 years occurred on June 17 as soldiers from the two nuclear-armed nations fought with sticks and nail-spiked clubs.

20 Indian soldiers reportedly died according to Indian officials. China has not released its fatalities.

India claims China is moving heavy equipment into the area. China is angered over India building a road connecting a forward air base.
